II.                  Brief background of the FGA

The Future Generation in Action (FGA) is one organization of a group of English department students at Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL). FGA is founded by a group of English department students in May, 2010. The organization is founded based on the situation which is faced by the students today. The reality has shown that lots of students are still poor of general knowledge and also lack of involvement in social activities. Therefore, through Future Generation in Action (FGA) these students would like to develop their knowledge and also to participate in those activities. Initially, there was a club which consisted of a group of third semester students of English department. The club ran the activities like studying together and sharing information. After six months, the members had a new idea to enlarge the club became an organization. All members of the club agreed with the idea. As a result, the members had a meeting in order to set up the new organization. Actually, we do not have any permanent place; therefore, we just run the activities in campus.

IV.               The main principles of FGA

There are four main principles of FGA, which have been applying up to now, namely:

1.      Knowledge development

2.      Information enlargement

3.      Students’ rights in education

4.      Initiative for peace

All FGA members implement these principles actively and strongly.

V.                 The aims of FGA are as follows

1.      To develop the students’ knowledge in all areas.

2.      To increase the students’ participation in all types of activities.

3.      To defend the students’ rights in education

4.      To maintain peace and stability in our beloved country.

VI.               The mission

The mission of FGA is to enlarge knowledge and information about education, health and environment and to develop skills for all students and communities in urban and rural areas.

VII.              The vision

The vision of FGA is all students and communities are rich of knowledge and information about education, health and environment.

VIII.  The programs

There are some programs that are running by FGA, namely:

1.      Socialization in Education area, especially in English course.

2.      Socialization in health area, especially in HIV-AIDS.

3.      Socialization in environmental area, especially in reforestation

4.      Capacity building.

5.      Study club (among all members FGA).
